Frequently Asked Questions

What is the WellSpan’s iGive Employee Giving Campaign?

The iGive Employee Giving Campaign is an annual fundraising campaign that invites all employees to make a voluntary donation to support the charitable initiatives of WellSpan Health and/or local United Way.

Why partner with United Way?

We realize that donors appreciate fewer requests for charitable contributions. Multiple campaigns and time periods are distracting and confusing, especially when two campaigns traditionally occur relatively close together. By partnering with local United Ways, we hope to make the process easier and more focused for donors: one campaign, once per year with opportunities to give to WellSpan, the United Way or to both organizations.

Why Should I Participate?

How Does My Gift Make a Difference? The need is great, and we do so many great things! Your gift, combined with those of your colleagues, helps to meet the needs of our patients and families, employees and the communities we serve.

Can I Share My Story?

YES!! We would love to hear from you and learn your story! We are always looking to feature employees for future campaigns. Email philanthropy@wellspan.org if you would like to learn more.

Where does my donation go?

You tell us! You can designate your donation to any WellSpan Philanthropy fund, program or project – and/or your local United Way. How do I make a gift? You can give online through the INET. Or employees can either mail in their gift or give their donation to their team leader to pass along to the foundation office.

Can I donate PTO?

YES, only during the PTO buy back time frame in the Fall! Employees must have at least 80 hours of PTO available as of the pay period ending Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024 and can choose to gift up to 40 hours of time. Please note that PTO donations are subject to all applicable payroll taxes. Please contact Human Resources if you have questions related to PTO donations.

When do payroll deductions start?

If you choose to make a payroll deduction pledge, they will start the first pay in January 2025.

I already give through payroll deduction. Is there anything I need to do?

Donation(s) to WellSpan Funds and /or the United Way made by payroll deduction will continue without change, unless instructed otherwise. If you wish to make a change or have questions, please contact WellSpan Philanthropy at philanthropy@wellspan.org.

Will the iGive Employee Giving Campaign be the only time each year WellSpan asks its employees for financial support?

Yes! While employees will continue to be informed about special fundraising events– such as golf outings – and may choose to participate, the annual iGive Employee Giving Campaign is the only fundraising effort that goes to all employees and asks them to respond.

Can I split my gift among different funds?

Yes! You either note your preferred funds on the employee giving portal to divide your gift among up to four funds, or with a pledge card.
